[Men's Cross Country] Lopez Leads Cavs at Tabor College InvitePublished by
MARION, Kan.- The Cavaliers' men's cross country team competed at the Tabor College Invite on Saturday morning, and Luis Lopez (JR/McAllen, Texas) once again led the Cavs in the 8K race. Lopez finished in sixteenth place overall on the men's side with a solid time of 29:43.3. Fernando Gonzalez (FR/Oklahoma City, Okla) was next to finish the race for SGU with a time of 32:22.4. Sager McCrary (FR/Conyers, GA) also ran for the Cavs on Saturday finishing with a time of 33:27.1. St. Gregory's men's cross country head coach, Chris Creal said, "Luis competed very well at this meet, and earned himself not only one of the best times of his career, but also one of the best overall finishes in his career. He has really stepped up and led this men's team this season." The Cavaliers will be back in competition on Oct. 7, when they compete at the OBU Invite in Shawnee.
